2019 has brought us a few challenging projects and thats just what we like to keep us busy.
We secured funding to build our safe space room, that has been a challenge due to weather hampering the build and unforeseen works, we began to wonder if we could pull this build off, but with the help of local tradesmen and our dedicated volunteers we are nearly at the end of this exciting project build.
We also, with community consultation considered opening the park paddling pool, we took into consideration the maintenance/man power/cost/sustainability/repairs and many other factors before the decision was made to look at alternatives. After asking the children and young people what they would like to see on the site we discovered that they missed their access to the old Astro Turf which is now a brand new 3G facility, unfortunately the children cannot access this without renting the pitch or adult supervision.
After a few meetings with RCTCBC we decided to build a facility on the site that will be open every day of the year with no cost to anyone who wishes to use it, we looked at a few alternatives but decided a multi gaming area would suit the park, and be a fantastic addition to Pentre. This project is now complete and the facility looks amazing!
The centre has received a much needed refurbishment over the last few weeks and we are super pleased with the nearly finished product!
